What is the task of the artist today? How does the biblical mandate for blessing and excellence relate to the artist’s need for experimentation and playfulness? In this session we will consider artists of the past and present who have demonstrated godly characteristics and done their part for making culture.

The artists track is designed primarily for those whose main vocation is working in the Creative Arts. Our discussion will build over the four mornings and there will be time to meet and network with other artists from varied disciplines who are Christian. In this opening session we will consider current philosophical and critical trends that concern the strange relationship between sincere religious belief and contemporary art practice.
