Jesus shows how a close relationship with him is the way to live a meaningful and productive life of love and joy that honours him and benefits those around us.

Leadership styles differ a lot across the world, but Jesus’ example of true leadership is not just an inspiring model for us, it is also a picture to help us understand what his death on the cross means.

Following Jesus means doing what he did and taught, and that means obeying him, which is not easy. At the moment we may be surrounded by Christian friends and have more free time, but faced with life back home, work pressure and family life, obeying Jesus may seem almost impossible. The good news is we are not expected to do it on our own. In Jesus’ teaching here he explains about the Holy Spirit, God’s power working in the lives of all those who believe in him.

Why do Christians claim Jesus is the only way to God? How do we understand how important Jesus is in a world where there seem to be many gods, religions and philosophies? But Jesus actually shows God to us – and brings us to God because he is God. And he reassures his followers that they are not alone, and they will never be alone, no matter where we go – now or in the next life.
