This seminar will explore the biblical basis for Christian apologetics drawing on the approach of Francis A. Schaeffer. We will stress the way truth must be defended over against both relativism and foundationalism. The art of persuasion will be explained, with the support of a number of practical examples and model conversations.
This seminar will draw on the revolution experienced by Francis A. Schaeffer that led him to connect apologetics with the Christian life. We will tell the story of his remarkable discovery, and then apply its principles to the practice of apologetics today. Our emphasis will be on avoiding the twin dangers of arrogance and diffidence as we engage in evangelism.
